چکیده

A SPICE-compatible simulation methodology for analyzing open– and closed-loop high-frequency electronic ballasts for fluorescent lamp was developed. The proposed procedure applies envelope simulation and makes use of the SPICE-compatible model of a fluorescent lamp. Experimental results validate the reliability of proposed simulation method.

WeB3-3 : Thermal Effects on the Stability of Piezoelectric Transformers Based Ballasts for Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps

The Envelope Impedance (EI) concept was used to investigate the thermal effects on the stability of Piezoelectric Transformers (PT) based ballasts for Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL) systems. The envelope analysis of the CCFL, which was verified experimentally, revealed that the magnitude of the negative EI decreases with temperature. This might cause the system to become unstable at low ...

Electromagnetic Fields Radiated by Fluorescent and Compact Fluorescent Lamps

In the scope of the monIT Project, it was found that fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamps are also important sources of radiation. More than increasing EMF levels in a particular environment, the radiation from ballasts may cause electronic interference with other devices. Two different lamps are analysed, in terms of both their radiated frequency spectrum and their compliance with Europea...

A Low Cost Single Stage Electronic Ballast Family For High Pressure Sodium Lamps

In the recent years many authors [1-4] are working to obtain single stage HPF electronic ballast for fluorescent and HID lamps to obtain cost reduction and to comply with international standard requirements. Usually to obtain HPF in electronic ballast for high pressure sodium lamps a Power Factor Preregulator (PFP) is used between the mains and the electronic ballast [5]. In this paper will be ...

Dynamic Interaction of High Frequency Electronic Ballasts and Fluorescent Lamps

Fluorescent lamps are non-linear devices that exhibit negative resistance over the useful range of operation. At low frequency, this negative resistance peculiarity is passed through during each period of the AC driving current [1]. When the fluorescent lamp operates at high frequency, the negative resistance is associated with the average power rather than with the instantaneous, cycle by cycl...
